AGP #537 to #541 “Amazing Grace” Sound Comparisons, Re Coda Tuition Strings and Tunings from one pack of Strings.

Five different Sound Samples, on five similar Builds, with different String Gauges and Tunings, the first one has a walk on Cameo appearance by “Molly the Dog”, and the last one has a walk by Cameo appearance by “The Big Boss’ and “The Dawg”.

My intentions were to get as Clean a Tone as I could through my Roland Micro Cube, Vol Full, & Gain Full for Volume, with no effects, but it wasn’t until I finished recording, that I realized I had the Reverb on Full, and I wasn’t going to do it all again, sorry if it sounds and looks a bit boring, but it was all I could come up with at the time. smile

  • "Thanks Doug", all 5 were played using the same Amp Settings, but like most of my Builds, I usually play around with different Amps and Settings to suit the individual Guitar Build, some like the Cleaner Quieter Settings, and some Like the Dirty Grungy Settings laughing

  • I thought they all sounded great! Maybe that is your playing Alan. I did like the rich, smooth lower sound of the DAD. GDG or GD is what my ears are used to. Thanks for doing the "shootout"!

  • "Thanks A.D." the Cameo's were completely unplanned smile

  • "Thanks Jonathan" will try and get a few more Sound Samples of my Builds done soon. laughing

  • "Thanks Poorness" Yup! all fretted with Medium Nickel Fretwire, its only been 2 years 3  months since my last Fretted Build laughing

  • "Thanks UJ", Yup! the Bottle Top Build was done back in December 2021 laughing

  • DAD for me !AGP #  fun cameo !!

  • Wait... are those frets? Or just thick fretlines? I need to go look at the pics now. I loved the rendition of Amazing Grace.

  • Man, you have some nice smooth slide control and feeling. Excellent. All sounds good to me. Maybe the first sounds best. Love that room and content. One git looks to be covered in bottle tops!?
