No idea who wrote the poem. Discovered at the back of an old book telling the story the village I was born and raised in. Allerton Bywater in West Yorkshire.

  • Loved it Sammy!!! Meeowwwwww^^306301025?profile=original

  • Loved that Sammy! Nice find on the poem, and the playing/guitar sounded wonderful.

  • Great story and song Sammy! Wow!  Combining some of my favs on CBN with you, Shane W and Uncle J. Here in West Virginia the coal mines are big business and the miners often risk and lose their lives trying to make a better life for their children. Lots of good songs have come from that culture from all parts of the world.

  • Sammy that was lovely.  Made my eyes leak a bit.    Cool to hear you speak too.

Good poem.  Those miners and their families had it tough, I am told.
