"I typically do not spray newer boxes, but have used poly satin spray on old ones to help protect them. Some builders spray all boxes. MadJohnShaft - I would be interested in sing some pix of your test project."

What do you find most interesting about cigar box guitars? (If you do not enter something meaningful here, your membership may be rejected).
Giving junk a voice and allowing it to sing

Statistics indicate that cigar box guitar builders are 47.4% more awesome than the general population.

ONE YEAR IN

Posted on February 2, 2016 at 3:00pm 2 Comments

About a year ago I bumped into this video on a cold winter day:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgiZ_A6objs

I was smitten. After scrounging a bunch of parts, and buying a few, my first CBG came to be. I am now about 12 instruments in with about 4 or 5 additional builds going.

Just wanted to thank you guys for all the input, encouragement, and 'rules' :)

Cigar Box Guitars are like people: Each one is different. And like people, some are more different than others.
