Wood top for Vinnies banjo

I've chosen Sinker Redwood for Vinnies banjo. The tailpiece will be shaped and a spoon added and the string ground wire connection.

    Hi Uncle. My sinker redwood came from out west. Ebay luthier wood. I have the other piece of the book match set for another build.

    Vinnie is kind of from redwood country, I think.  Do they, did they, grow that far north?
