Looks like Banjo building is the flavour of the month at the moment Jim (and Dave), be interesting to hear how the Birch top build sounds, downloaded a 6 part video series from Utube (Block rim construction by Richard Brown), a couple of years ago (and bought the band type clamps), on how to build a 3 ring Banjo bowl similar to what you've done, but! it's still on "The To Do List", your 1 piece ring build looks like a lot less work.

It's actually a heavy clear tape. You could use regular duck tape but with clear you can make sure each joint is closed up correctly.
