Just finished building my middle son Joe an electric/acoustic guitar out of a wine box -- my first guitar build of any kind. The neck which I painted to match the body was salvaged from a guitar from Goodwill. Features include a Flatpup Humbucker from Elmar Zeilhofer and a rod piezo/equalizer from C.B. Getty.I gotta mention the Krylon. I used a translucent red called Stained Glass. You can clearly see the wood grain through the paint. Perfect for a cheap sunburst finish. I had to order on-line -- could not find it in stores.

That's an excellent looking guitar. The sunburst looks fabulous. Nice work in reducing the size of the box. The proportions look perfect for the neck.
nice post Bob, beautiful instrument! Your son must happy about his dad's build
beautiful job there
This is a picture of the spray can for the red Stained Glass. It is really a translucent, candy apple red if I have ever seen one.
