  • Very true jkb. On the bright side, I've seen guitars and ukes made from toilet seats!

  • The more you play, the more natural open G gets.   Also, you can tune a 3 string DGB and get good finger chorded and picked sound using standard guitar chords - but just with those 3 strings.

  • very true jim.but it could be worse there must be someone out there that makes toilet seats.jkb

  • Nice work John. I used to make chairs before I started instruments. I tell people I got tired of folks putting their buts on my work. People walk all over yours so I think guitars are more satisfying.

  • yes  your right.I  am 69  and I spent the last 50 years fitting wooden flooring and amtico vinyl etc.

I used to be in a group in the late 50s as a ryhthm guitarist.I have had guitars in 1 way or another

since then.I have only recently been introduced in to cigarbox guitars  since seeing seasick steve

and then hitting the google button.I held my 1st cigarbox guitar at a show 1 month ago after making 4of my own

I am trying to learn to play open g tuning, after 50 years of standard its defenitely difficult.

taking some of my gits to a local folk club tommorow night.Got to try and sell some.  regards jkb.
