Weekend amp project

Got this old box last week. It looks like it was home made. Sides, top and bottom are solid oak or ash. Front and back are plywood. It looks like it has nice age to it judging by the leather handle and the fabric that is inside it. I cleaned it a little and rubbed in one light coat of Tung Oil just to bring a little shine to it. Putting an 18 watt amp circuit I built around a TDA2030 chip. And I'm adding the LM386 little Gem circuit as a preamp. Powering a 50watt speaker. Early testing of the circuits sounded good. It's only going to sound better when I get it boxed up.

  • I’m working on a similar amp project

    using a tda2030a pre-assembled mono amplifier board(15watt)

    3-inch speaker

    2 six-volt lantern batteries wired in series as the 12-volt dc power supply

    in a 5”x5”x6” cigar box case( tung oil looks good!)

    an optional headphone output is also envisioned...

    also have a volume/tone preamp (9volt battery) as a preamp...

    working on a handle and a recliner bracket when set on the ground..

    pictures later...
