We're going to do a CBG Zoom Jam as part of Cally Fest 2021. Bring your 3-string CBG and play along with the group. Songs will be led by Uncle John, Poorness Studios, and Doug Thorsvik (of the 1-finger CBG Slingers). All ages and skill levels are welcome.SEE THE EVENTS PAGE FOR MORE INFORMATION!https://cigarboxnation.com/events/1st-callyfest-zoom-jamRead more…
That may be true for some Ray! I couldn’t say. The Slingers will be doing our 50th Zoom meeting Monday and have not had any security problems. The Spokane Ukulele group I Zoom with has done over 20 meetings with no problems either. We will miss you Ray, but I can see you’re having a great time regardless. Hope you catch one of them pigs, if not you’ll have to settle for a couple of strips of bacon at breakfast!
Zoom has a horrible security record which is easily verified. I'm out for the Zoom, but am all in for the rest! WWWHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! We gonna have a greased pig catchin' contest?
I usaly dont agree whit the Witch Doctor from Canadada , i believe he has a point there! its to real and not Virtual at all, its more a thing for Doug pickers Club, but to be real , it was eneveteble he can never attend , then he whoed not be Anonymous anymore! its alive only not kicking that hard anymore ! just to put in my bit ! and yes loads have real bad Memories !
Thanks guys. Pick’s comment generated some thoughtful responses. Zoom on. I like the outdoor drive in idea Rick. Could the Zoom be projected onto a Goodyear Blimp? Floating over the drive in?
Great poster guys! This will be new and exciting. Looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with. I work Saturday (how you like that for ducking out) unfortunately. We’re installing a giant drive in movie screen for your Zoom songs and music videos. I hope your Zoom jam is most successful. Right on Uncle! CallyFest just is! It belongs to CBN and all dreamers with imagination. A giant festival without all the fuss of showering and dressing up on a beautiful beach with unlimited adult beverages. If you build it, virtually, they will come for the love of sharing their music. Zoom on fellas!
Dave, No offense taken. I concur entirely with your comments on Zoom. It does not work for a band that is trying to play together. For our cigar box guitar Slingers group which is modeled after the ukulele groups Zoom provides a way to play together. It doesn’t come close to playing together in the same room, but it is way better than just playing alone and have no meeting at all. I have tried to get creative to make the Zoom Jam meetings more engaging. No small task. I have tried to focus on what Zoom will allow us to do, not what it won’t. CallyFest is a great way to get everyone interacting and I certainly enjoy it and I was hoping there was room for a both and approach. I thought this might be a way to connect with others that, unfortunately, didn’t really happen when I went to several cigar box guitar box festivals a few years ago. I do hope to attend them again in the future!
