i steamed the top off of the violin. i'm going to do a through the body build, constructing the neck of the ukulele and an internal strut from the same piece of mahogany. i've just been waiting for the chance to use the band saws at the university wood shop.

thanks chris, i'm looking forward to getting on with this one. I did a cigar box violin a few months ago, which i was really happy with, so i'm excited to do something in the other direction.
