this is the design for my next project. i have been wanting to do something with a violin for a while. I managed to pick up an old violin body, (no pegs, accessories or strings etc.) at a car boot sale for £1.50, and decided that it was more efficient to make something else out of it instead of buying all the bits to make it into a violin (plus i'm not no good at violin, since my last violin project went well but i couldn't play it.)So here we are: making a tenor ukulele from the violin body...violele! its been done before, but usually with the tail piece of a violin. that way it looks more like a violin. but i want to make it look more like a guitar, so i'm gluing a hand carved bridge into the body and a pick guard screwed into the top.
