Yup. Modified 'em just as his suggestion. The one on the right has a regular bridge (with a brass bolt saddle). The one on the left has 3 stratocaster style bridge/saddle combo units. (The box on the left is a little shorter and a regular bridge would have been under the tailpiece cover) BTW - they both sound great, a lot louder acoustically than I thought they would be!

This is how I did it. Modify the mandolin tailpiece per Gitty's suggestion, then feed the saddle's screws through the holes:

I had some black ones laying around so used them, for the same reason you said. I'm going to change them out for gold as soon as I can.
