Tony's cello

The top is made of a long old door panel. We needed to raise the bridge, so laminates were added. The heck block and tail block are Doug fir, the back is pine from my beam edging collection. Sides are poplar.

  • Thanks Pick. I was a painting major in art school. I like oil paint for stains. I did an oil painting on my dad,s old leather flight jacket. That stuff sticks.

  • Thanks Jims. The oil paint works nice in washes with lots of terps. He used yellow ochre, Burt umber and Venitian red. The dark red is thick old door paint that Tony left for relic value.
