I made the trek down there with Maddog and T. Robert Johnson. It got hot out in the open sun, but I had a real good time. So did everyone else.
Other fests are bigger, but I think the performers at KC are pretty hard to beat. And the people are nice and the locals love dem blues and love Tim Covey's rock and roll.
The highlight of the day for me, and it just gave me goosebumps, was when Justin Johnson invited Scotty (Blind Dog Willie) Shipps up to play. Amazing. Made my eyes leak. I bought a Blind Dawg Willie shirt. :)
Thanks to Linda for doing a great job hosting the fest. I hope to go in 16'.
