THMBC4 (CBG# 7)

Building this CBG for The Heavy Metal Brewing Company in WA. We discussed a 3 string that says "Metal" music. He likes what I came up with so far. The gloss black is actually automotive base and clear. The masking is still on the sides so that's the original wood of the box... Have the bridge to go, and some specific to that business artwork to go..

  • Thanks Uncle John. As it turns out, the business this is being made for's logo is a skull as it is, with crossed guitars (instead of bones). It ties into the business logo perfectly. I've a plan of how to get his logo on the box.. stay tuned (to open G.. haha)...

I appreciate the comments. I myself am partial to the pearloid pegs or similar.

  • Nice gloss black and good for metal.

Rowdy, let me tell you my take on the skull tuners.  Most folks stick with matched tuners.  I like to use just one skull tuner.  On a pretty build like this, I would almost match it with nice chrome tuners.  On a relic build, I like mis-matched tuners that look like the builder had to scrounge them up.  I like your music and builds.

I have run into a couple Christians that I could tell, thought skull tuners were creepy or demonic or something.  I told them, nope, to me the skull represents the old time players and song writers gone by - and pays them homage.
