The neck was in a canjo that just did not have much sound volume. The can is now a pencil holder, and the new diddley sounds pretty darn good.I used a found piece of iron that Chris Lyons gave me for the saddle. Will gift the diddley today to a nice guy who has a 3 string from me and a little boy who might have fun with the diddley. The photo made the neck and box look crooked. Trust me on that. I am a CBG builder.

  • Wes, next to air guitar, one strings are my best talent.

  • Pick, I raised the glasses on the low ear with bubble gum.  Looks straight and true now.

    I have to agree, Eric.

    LOL, Alan.   Good advice.

  • Advice given to me as young Bricklayer by an Uncle!, if something doesn't look straight, to really appreciate it, you must stand back and blur your eyes :-)

  • It's a diddley who cares how straight or square the neck is. As long as the string gets from point a to point b. IMHO That's the fun

  • if you wear  glasses and one ear  is lower  ,  your eyes  look  level  to    us  ;-)

  • Crap, Pick.  You almost ruined my day.  I checked it out and one eye is higher.   Now I have to walk around with a  slight head tilt to the left to even things out.

  • nice  .  neck is  fine  ,,  one of you  eyes  must  be higher  ;-)

  • Well, shit.  Maybe the neck and box are not square.  But it sure plays and sounds good.   I knocked this baby out in PDQ time.  And had fun doing it.
