Someone gave me a wrecked acoustic with a broken neck. Repaired the neck, built own soundbox with paint tin lid as a sort of resonator. Called 'The Beast' as it's an absolute pig to play.

Thanks, first and only neck repair so far. The problem with the playability is the string tension, I think the overall length of the strings from tuners to anchors is just too long - they take some cranking to get up to pitch. Not so much a problem when using open tuning and slide, of course. Mark.
