  • Hey Mark, You've built some cool stuff with some neat art work. Hey, how does the Ashton top 4 string mando sound? I build good CBGs, but I am always dissatisfied with my 4 string mandos. I don't think I can make a good 8 string. I may have to get a neck somewhere.
  • Thanks for the comment.so many talented people on here.Great stuff you got there
  • Hello,
I have started a CBN group entitled, "How to Play CBG" It is my hope and intention to encourage the "Wealth of Talent" here on the Nation to share their knowledge and skill to further the CBG movement. Please consider contributing an instructional "video" link to this group. If you are a viewer seeking instruction, please feel free to write. If you have any suggestions or know other players who you think may want to post instructional "video" links, please contact me. Thank you for your interest and support, Keni Lee
  • Hey, cool stuff!...I am making a new site, should be fun to visit check it out when you have some time http://www.3-string-guitar.com/
  • thanks fur lookin mark. i have tried all kinds of neck joints and have found this type of scarf joint to be the best, but the most tricky to glue up. i found dry clampin from the sides then drill two holes in the top for #6 1/2 screws or 1/4 dowels take care of any slippage when glueing... while i was here i was lookin at yur pics, great stuff, keep buildin
  • Hey Mark,
    Just saw your note.
Yeah, the lunch boxes work out well for guitars. Even have a built in handle.
Thanks for checking out my page.

  • The Beast cbg: Thanks, first and only neck repair so far. The problem with the playability is the string tension, I think the overall length of the strings from tuners to anchors is just too long - they take some cranking to get up to pitch. Not so much a problem when using open tuning and slide, of course. Cheers, Mark.
  • Yeah Mark I had an old banjo with a friction tuner on it and it was a nightmare. I play a goodtime deering banjo most of the time and I hope maybe this will be my new favorite. I have a hard time playing around that 5th tuner on the neck so maybe this will help me play the whole fretboard of my banjo HAA! thanks for the comment.
  • Hey Mark - Thanks for the comments you might try scrounging at Lowes they might have something. I am going to buy the pre-made set.... But hey who said I can only build one? I have a few ideas on the drawing board.... Take care - Jim
