Had my eyes on a Ibanez tenor guitar. Saw my two smaller Ashton boxes on a shelf so gave it a whirl. Incredible acoustic sound and with zero fret string action is awesome. Piezo pickup.

Thanks Dennis, Dave and Uncle. I hollowed out the area between leaving 3/8 inch on the bottom and sides for the glue to hold I figure the pull of the strings will help keep the top together. The neck is 1 and 1/2 wide and a 23 inch scale. If I make another I'll make a tapered neck but it suits my old fIngers well. I did standard DGBE tuning on this one.
Wow, you made a winner there. Glad is sounds do good. That nut placement has to be a factor for the good. Are there holes between the adjoined boxes? I assume there are.
I briefly had an Ibanez tenor- I think it was the solid top and it was the smaller of the two they offered. It played and sounded good, but the neck was so narrow! I am not easy on guitars and that narrow neck scared me. It was from Musicians Friend and they are good about letting customers return guitars. So I returned it.
I love tenors. I am much better on them than a six. I had a Harmony tenor and sold it. I have another 50s Harmony tenor that someone antiqued. Nice guitar, but I seldom play it. I prefer to play my home mades. The tenor I regret gifting away was a small bodied -Silvertone? - I forget. It was a six that I converted to a tenor with a Maddog made hammered paint can resonator. Darn. I wish I had kept that one.
