I finally found a used bass drum pedal at the local flea market and built my suitcase kick drum I've wanted for a while. The suitcase was $3.00 at the thrift store and the wood was scrounged. It was totally worth the wait! Sounds HUGE. Very worthwhile project.

Thanks DarkMark! I don't have a pickup in it. Something I've done, though to use it with an amp is set a speaker about a foot from it and use the speaker like a mic to feed the amp. I just used clip leads to hook the speaker wire to a guitar cord and plug it right in. I hope this helps.
nicely nicely done. do you have a pickup in this thing, and if so where? preparing to make one for myself, out of an old (octagonal) 20th Century Fox 35mm motion picture film shipping box, and want option to run into an amp. thx
