ok the idea is you use the magnets to attach the pickup. it snaps right on a tin guitar yeah, but with a couple screws into the thru neck (inside the box) or a small plate of sheet steel on the inside of the lid it'll stick to a cbg too. the control / output component also has a couple magnets in it, so you put a wee bit of steel down on the edge, or even on the bottom or top edge, for that as well..
so you only need build acoustic instruments but with these two little bits of steel in em, then you can pull this off one and slap it on another. works great.
ii'll fit out a cbg for it this week and get some video and installation pix. the only thing to be mindful of is you need enough 'magnetic mass' or whatever its called under the lid so the pickup sticks to the lid and not to the strings ( three decent sized screws is plenty.
i have a nice stash of pretty veneers on hand so i'll be making a batch of these up if anybody wants one please indicate an interest so i know how many to knock up
