So here's my 1st design (yes its a four string) but it still may become a 6. I'm going to use the black skeleton tuners sold here, and I think its should look ok. Please like me know what ya think....and any suggestions wouls be appreciated.

It looks awesome. If you have prior wood/metal skills I say go for it. None of this is rocket science. Great CAD work as well. Being an engineer, I can appreciate working out the details before you make chips. I typically lay mine out in 2D, but this may inspire me to get to work on my Rhino software. Good luck and keep us informed.
Yeah thats my plan....take it real slow, I'm fairly good with carpentry, and been around instruments for along time....and a firm believer in CBN support too steer me in the right direction....and appreciate all your advise.
I think it looks awesome. If you can pull that off in wood and steel it will be really nice. Maybe a bit too ambitious for a first build but if you plan carefully and don't rush?
cool idea, but don't overthink it---the idea is to keep it simple and get back to the roots of american music---computer designs are nice, but try using paper and pencil, and don't get too fancy---make it PLAY good first and foremost---and keep the bling to a minimum!! All the fancy woodwork in the world won't make it sound better!!!
