  • I put the files up as music on my page, too lazy to work anything out at the moment. The one labeled test1 is electric then acoustic, test 2 is the other way around. Electric is through a behringer hybrid amp that I replaced the nasty 12ax with a 12ay or 12au, can't remember what got left in there. As I said, one day I'll learn to play these things....
  • Sound files recorded now have to put them somewhere.

  • Vroom vroom!

Nice piece of art/guitar.  Can't wait to hear it.

  • Forgot to mention that the only things new on this were the neck stock, which came out of the offcuts bin at a local wood shop for $0.99 a lb, and the strings. The tuners were from a donor guitar and the sheet metal was the bottom of an old DVD player. It's a string thru and is a 24 3/4 scale.
  • Thanks for the positive comments. I'll get some sound clips together soon. I haven't sent it to my Dad yet as I'm still testing to make sure it's working OK ;-)

There are some things I'm not really happy with, wrong pot for a start, but it sounds best wide open anyway.

  • Wow.   I liked it, but didn't know what it was.   Read the sheet metal hot rod stuff below and like it a lot!
  • Very cool!
  • Thanks.

Should mention that the soundboard is three dimensional and the raised areas are all that are reinforcing it. There is some sag from the string tension but it's reached equilibrium now and isn't moving anymore. Will try to get a good pic of the top with the new camera.

Am sending it as a present to my Dad, when he saw the drawings on a visit this summer he couldn't stop talking about it.

  • Time I got around to posting these. Built back in July / August, during some of my vacation. Sheet metal top, pine semi hollow body, maple neck, dual piezos in a violin style bridge.Have to find the nut pic, brass 1/4 20 bolt.
  • took  me a min ..  but  i see the  rot  rod    ;-)   nice  !!!!!
