Yes, I have done a lot of reading on blues history and artist, when I came across Big Joe Williams guitar, I also saw that there is a contest at handmade music clubhouse so thought to rebuild the neck and make this a joe williams style acoustic/electric. So, I am in waiting for $$ to get parts so I will likely miss the deadline for the Lazarus Challenge. here is where I am so far;
Saw your comment re: building a Big Joe Williams acoustic. My jukebox has Big Joe Willians' 78rpm record "Delta Blues". I read he was VERY eccentric & non-traditional regarding his guitars, ie: number of strings & gadgets he stuck on them. Should be fun for you. Looking forward to seeing yours!
This is an uncle crow style cbg I am working on while waiting to be able to order parts for the acoustic big joe williams build. This neck will be lower profile on the body, so only 1/2" will be sitting on the body. Theme is spririt of '76. The body has a stained initials (manufacturer??) that I do not want on the box, so I will be putting a centennial 1976 quarter inlay in its spot. The box is a la flor dominicana.
