keep the can whole so you can grasp it without distorting the metal, use a smooth small awl to pierce dead center of bottom, make a line of holes eminateing from center, bisect this line at a 90 degree angle with another line of equally spaced holes. I find four holes not including center hole will get you to the rim. bisect these four divisions with four more equally spaced lines of holes, finish with bisecting all lines with 3 holes per space. I cut them by piercing at middle and remove all but the last half inch at rim with regular scissors with sharp points and blades, then I remove the rest using just the scissor tips following the graphics edge very slowly cutting 1/4 inch at a squeeze. finish by running cut edge on a flat file. one note; can coating will clog awl making each hole harder to pierce, after every couple holes I clean tip with emory or steel wool, then I lightly coat tip with chapstick and wipe off excess. hope this helps Uncle John.

Great instructions. I may try it some time. Thanks, Randy!

Good idea. Do you cut them with big scissors or tin snips?
soda cans, rootbeer, sprite, diet coke.
Neat. Are those from pop or beer cans?
