Hi Mike. Good to hear from you. I have been trying to get a couple of neck scarf joints to glue and hold without slipping out of position. I didn't take time to make a jig of some sort to hold them in position. Still learning.
Trying some steel wool and vinegar stain on lyptus neck(s) Like the effect so far. Perhaps we can get together some time. Take care.
ps I have two 1943 Nagants. One carbine and one long barrel. Forget the model numbers.

bill, i clamp the neck down to the table and use a long bar clamp lengthwise to keep it from slipping while applying clamps to the joint.

yes, nagant. would have had it finished but, poplar neck broke. made a new neck from maple. planning on it being a short scale bass.
Is that the "Mosin Nagant" model ? Clever...
