I covered the purple plastic slide whistle with wood veneer out of a cigar box. Made brass mounts out of sheet brass. Rubbed the veneer with a combination of coffee grounds and shoe polish.Then coated wood and plastic parts with amber shellac and then a coat of matte finish spray. Fumed the brass mounts and screws in vinegar vapor to get some fast patina going.

Very nice Bluesheart. I love your antiquing and drum head. A friend of mine has made a board like yours with a hinged spoon that scrapes the board. The spoon is moved by a wire rod leading to his strumming hand. He's playing the banjolele strumming it while scraping the washboard. It's way cool. His name is Color Blind Lee Johnson. He's a stitch. ..... Dave
