  • love the natural look the tin lid rocks

  • Yes, there is a hole under the lid. I left enough underneath to screw it to the top around the edges.

  • Agree totally with turtlehead, clean, simple and rustic were exactly what I thought when I saw it.  I favor the 'traditional' look that doesn't forget it's a box and salvaged materials.  Is there a hole routed underneath the can lid or is it just fastened in place?

    My Dad called me "Dutchman".

  • I see. My Dad was quite a fisherman too. So much so he was known as "Catfish Bob"! He called me "Pete" why I have no idea. I was totally surprised how well this lil dude sounded. They all seem to sound different ... part of the fun ! Thanks Man and Keep on Pickin' !!!

  • Yep. Regular old 3/4 pine box with 1/4 plywood top and back. Works pretty well ! I like to keep it fun and simple and see what it sounds like. Experimenting is interesting to see what works and sounds good ! Sure do like your music Turtlehead ! Back when I was in the band my favorite beer joint we played at was called "Turtleheads"! It's a small seafood and bar type place in Joplin MO !

  • Thanks Uncle John ! I got the idea from Turtleheads video of "I wanna play that Rock n Roll" ! I think he used a metal coffee can lid. Ol' Turtlehead's music is perdy darn good !! Back drop is blanket on my "easy" chair.

  • Yup.  Like the reso.  Even cooler for some reason that it was from chili.  Cool back drop/

  • Diddley Bow with chili can lid reso ... looks kinda silly but rings out like a bell !
