I`d say in workability is equal to poplar. After I attached the curly maple neck the guitar was unbalanced, as the neck was heavier then the body. So to counteract the weight difference I stuck a 5/8" x 10" brass rod in the back of the body. That along with the brass tail block and brass bridge I made a huge difference. Plus it gave the guitar awesome sustain !
Burl in general is dense grained, but standard buckeye is a softer wood, I thought How does this buckeye burl compare to other woods for workability, Randy?
