  • Thanks Terry. I've been away from the CBGs for a year and a half. We had a kid and moved, so all my stuff is still packed in boxes until I can get a workshop set up. The boy is 1 year old in a week and a half, and I was hoping to get a soprano uke built for him, but it doesn't look like that's in the cards. (busy making a big train board for under the tree this year so I can get out the old Lionels for the boy)

If I get a chance, I'll try to dig up the box you are asking about. I forget the name, but it was by a company that does special/limited editions. I have 2 from them, different sizes. They are really nice, except they're not very deep--I was looking for another one to match the one in the photo, so I could take the back off one and the front off the other, and then stack them to get more volume in the box. The problem was, that they don't do that special/limited edition any more, so it's hard to find them, so I might have to make a 1" spacer to put between the front and back of the box.

I appreciate the kind words, and I hope to be back to them soon. I miss building them as it was sort of meditative for me--a good way to relax and clear my head.

    Have a great one, Brad

  • Wow! I love the grain pattern on that front left box! I've never seen one like that before. What brand is it?... Also, I love the look of your woodwork, neck and headstock on those tenor ukes. I can see your well on your way. still trying to finish up my first one (two string chugger using that same sized acid box.) All the best to you brdfrd.
