  • Neat experiment and great looking guitars.  I love the look of the one on the right, but maybe you made the hole a little to big for best volume and tone.  I think with CBG types, that sound hole effectiveness is more an art than a science.

    Do you have a torch? That one on the right would look great with bit of blackening and antiquing.    

  • There is a big difference between the two cbgs on the left with the sound hole on the upper side of the body and the third with the sound hole on top: they sound louder, fuller, warmer, even on the top string, and even for the audience. A slightly richer sound has the model with the neck on top, even with the mass of the bridge four times compared to the bridges of the other two. Next I will give a try to one with three small sound holes. The model on the right with the large sound hole on top has more twang all over the strings but lacks the full sound of the others.

  •  I did the same thing last year but with two boxes. Montecristo number 4 boxes are the best
