Having got the strings off, I had to take the top off (yes, Uncle J, I had screwed it on). Hmm, a piezo- have I got a single coil harness with volume? Yes- a Gitty lipstick, in gold! I spent an hour and more cutting and filing the hole in the top, and as luck would have it it is EXACTLY where the nineteenth fret would have been- so bang on a harmonic node. Nice bronze effect knob to complete the upgrade, and- wow! This is now my studio guitar, my go-to guitar; I record with this beauty. This may be the best three-stringer I have built, owned, or even played to date. I hate to blow my own trumpet, but hell, I'd be awful at building trumpets, and this is now lovely almost beyond words.Moral of the story? Never be afraid to go back to a piece...
