  • The neck I have is not square where it meets the guitar. That is where I run into problems. I don't think the neck sides are parallel either. The taper is causing problems with my jig.

  • thanks Don , the router makes a nice job of the neck pocket , when your neck comes , lay the butt end of your neck on some cardboard and draw around it with a good sharp Pencil or as i use a mechanical Pencil with 0.5mm lead for a nice clean line , you can use this cardboard template to work out the size your neck pocket will need to be once you calculate the distance of the router cutter and guide bush , say for instance it's 3mm just draw a line all way round your template 3mm away from the drawn outline of the actual neck butt
