The Romeo Y Julieta box will make another neat amp. The Fuente box is long and not very tall at all. It'll make a great solid body electric.

The inside of the box measured out to only 1 1/16" deep at the front edge. That's barely enough room to mount a neck and not a lot of room for bracing - at least in my limited mind. Add to that the fact that I'd like to mount the neck at the top of the box (the hinged end) and you got a challenge to a new builder like me. That's why I figure I'll make a solid box insert and mount a bolt-on neck. It's gonna be interesting.
I picked up about 8 of those Chateau Fuente boxes last week and I'm nearly finished with two of them: a 4-string & a 3-string with 24" fret scales. I actually don't mind the "thinline" shallow boxes, once they're amplified. -I guess well see tomorrow, after the glue dries. But you are probably right, solid body with a proper pickup might be the way to go.
