Since the neck is made of a 200 year old piece of loblolly pine that has been attacked by wood boring beetles, and I didn't know how strong it would be, I made it 1.5" thick and I made it pass completely through the box. This shows how I made room for the magnetic pickup and lowered the neck to allow the box top to vibrate.
