  • Cheers mate - yep i'm pretty fond of this myself took forever to make and it's the only one of my guitars thats not playable and i still have it lol !
  • Thanks Johnnie mate
the tuners are made from some tin plate for the backing plate the tuner keys are bent copper wire filled with solder then sprayed silver , the actual tuner shaft and would be Gear wheels are some small alloy turnings i did on the lathe - the strings are made from silver plated copper wire the two top strings have a single core which i wound another strand of wire around to resemble wound strings these were the hardest part of the build beleive it or not
Thanks for the question and intrest mate
    juju :)
  • JuJu this is very cool interesting piece as well, how about the tuning keys how did you do those if you don't mind me asking. Either way mate another job well done. Johnnie
  • lol - where did i get it ...i made it from left over Cigar Box wood "waste not want not" as us brits say - the hardest pate about making this was winding the strings by hand a real pain in the Butt
took me as long to make this as a real one - had two offers for it £100 & £130 but i won't let it go it's a keeper still got to finish the Amplifier i started making to go with it lol!
    thanks for the comments guys
    juju :)
  • Wow! Even your minatures look great. Nice job JuJu.That is one cool little guitar.
  • Where did you get that ? I want one.
  • Thanks Shawn , yes your right it took ages to make it - the screens are made from 5mm Boot lace eyelets with mega fine Stainless Steel Mesh and the reso coverplate is made from a bit of tin that used to live on the bottom of a Gravy Carton - i peirced it with a small Sewing Needle to create the look of a reso - turned out pretty well i also started making a little amp to go with it but as yet it's still half done - a project i'll get back to if things ever slow down
    Cheers mate
    juju.
  • Hay nice one. Their harder to make small. What did you use for the reso part and screens?
  • Hi Brian , yeah he's kinda cool the little fella !
well i have always been in-to minitures and building one-off models so it was just a matter of time before this Reso came about theres more pix of it in the album - http://www.cigarboxnation.com/photo/albums/model-mini-14-scale-reso , theres also some pix of another model i built over in the ART Room Group - http://www.cigarboxnation.com/group/theartroom

i'm still building a little amp to go with the reso gonna make a diorama (3D picture in a box ) more than likley in a Cigar Box
Thanks for your intrest bro be sure to check out the art room !
