  • Wes, seems to be the "standard" dobro tuning. I like a lot of the Hawaiian tunings too, but i alway return to the open G.
  • Thanks Wes, Uncle John, She's on her way. I tune her DBGdbg. It's like two 3 string guits side by side. Uncle John, you'd slip right into 6 strings with such a tuning. It's the old Dobro tuning i learned back in the 60s.
  • Nice, Dave!

  • Thanks Bluesheart, Pick, i took her to work today and played her a bunch. She has that real dobro sound. Very expressive and with sustain forever. It rattles a little when i strum across the bass strings. I may need to put some rattle gaskets between the tail and the cover plate and perhaps around the big cone hole. I'll try the tail first. If i pick individual or double strings it is a clean sound. Still sounds great even with the rattle. I've never got as clean a husk as this one was. The body has very few dings, just a few from hitting the top with a slide bar. The nut height could be higher. Jerry Douglas has his strings way up in the air. No fret whacking that way...

  • What a beauty!

  • sweeet!!!

  • Thanks Gary, i think she'll be a lot of fun in our band. I've got a very old Dobro, I keep "Sam" home mostly. Now i can bring this youngster. It's loud too...
  • Sweet looking guitar
