Never did a thru the box style guitar except for maybe really bad early ones... all of them have been some sort of bolt on method. I put an angle on necks too so bolt on is just easier for me.
Even with the extra strength of a thru the box one I think it'd still need a truss rod just like real thru body electric guitars.
Looks like you sanded the radius after making the slots for the frets. It looks like you bolt on the neck. Have you ever made a 6 string with the neck going on through the box? I am wondering if this would get rid of the need for a truss rod.
