Uncle John; no offense taken, believe me. The box section is very thin. This was an experiment to see if I could get away with pine necks. I wouldn't be a bit surprised to find out that I can't. The tuning did go a bit flat rather quickly. It DOES make a nice lightweight guitar, though.
Chaka, that is pretty And a nice design for the most part. I build mine heavier and 'stronger' than that looks and I still sometimes get some bowing. What I mean is, the through the box portion looks too thin. A quarter inch or more glue on piece making a small heel and tail would strengthen things up. Best wishes and no offense meant.

I bet it does weigh little and sound good. You could still go back and add a strengthening piece if needed.
