  • Thanks, Uncle John.  Salvaging an old guitar for parts to experiment with before committing on higher quality materials while I get the hang of working with the tools I have on hand.  Wasn't paying much attention to how they were placed when I removed them; I was just trying to get them set up to rotate on the other side the direction I wanted the pegs to rotate.  I'll try to be more mindful of that, next time. :)

  • Nice old timey look to it. James, the word on CBG street is that it is better to have the gears down- the opposite of what you have- as they work and last a bit better. They should be fine as is.

  • Good old timey look.  Good scavenge.  James, the word on the CBG street is that those open tuners work and last better if the gears are down (below the tuner).  They will likely be fine this way.

  • Scavenged three more cheap, plastic machine tuners from a crappy student guitar we've had for years, but no one ever plays because... crappy student guitar that never stayed in tune.
