  • LOL....the floor is just linoleum with lots of sawdust. Yes I just traced out the curve using the base of the tin for a pattern. I cut the curve with my bandsaw and used some files and paper to finish it off. If you take the time to cut it properly the finish work is minimal!

     

  • Is that a shag rug, or just accumulating saw dust? I imagine keeping a shag rug in a wood shop clean is a fair amount of work. Kidding aside, you neck and cookie tin joint seems to fit great. How did you go about cutting the "round" out of the base of the neck? Did you trace the round using the cookie tin lid? And then use a coping saw? And then sand a lot? I've put off doing round cookie tins because I'm not sure how to go about "cutting out the round". Instead, I've used rectangular and octagonal cookie tins, making this joint cut a lot easier. Your work looks very clean.
