It has a very good sound, I guess something like a cymbal, the brass keeps on "ringing" forever. The three holes is from the original hinge on the bed heater, You can't see it on the picture, but both top and bottom is brass, there was at 2 feet stick attached to it to carry it from the stove to the bed. It looks like you tried attaching the strings at the saddle or as a tailpiece first?
Then moved to the bridge?
How did or does it sound acapella, i.e. without a pickup
