Fretless upright with a pool filter cut in half for the body. Weedwhacker strings, Luan mahagony top and a maple neck. This design came from Dennis Havlena's site but he used a large cookie tin for the body.

Thanks Euraquilo. I just used line from a local hardware store. Just make sure to get round line, some is octagonal and is hard on the fingers. Putting a knot in was a little tricky. I left enough extra on the short end to grab with pliers and then pulled till the knot tightened up. I also had to enlarge the holes in some of the tuners since the line is larger diameter than regular bass strings.
The reason I asked about the weedwhacker end is that I thought it might not hold a knot. Last night I ordered some Oregon Magnum Gatorline trimmer string on eBay. It looks like it might be better than other trimmer string because it has an inner core that supposedly strengthens it. We'll see. If you have any particular recommendations on string, I'd be grateful to hear it. I thought your bass sounded wonderful.
Thanks Euraquilo. There's a hole drilled in the tailpiece for each string a little larger than the string's diameter. The string is fed through the hole and a knot tied into the end. Here's what it sounds like.
