Tuned it to "G" and for something so simple it has a very nice tone.

    Uncle John...I have a friend who made a canjo out of a very flimsy aluminum beer can. I ask why he didn't use a steel can and his reply was like yours. If it gets crushed, drink another beer and swap out the can! The stick will still is interchangeable! :)
