The strings are not that high off of the box so it works really well. I set it up with a low action, so it makes it a lot easier to play.
That amazes me that it works below the box lid. Some times that is good for the look - no pup showing. Nice git and sound holes and screen.
The string action isn't that high, so yes the neck pickup has plenty of volume.
