The faceplate on the one on the right is red oak, same as the neck but from a 3" wide board. I resawed it from a 1X3 and the faceplate finished out about 2-3mm thick. Not veneer but nearly. I glue them on with whatever glue is striking my fancy at the moment. Titebond or Elmers yellow carpenters glue seem to be my favorites because I can unclamp in 30 minutes and clamp something else. I've used liquid hide glue and I like the stuff for furniture repairs because it gives me a long open and work time. I just have to leave the clamps on forever with liquid hide glue. I don't use the granular stuff.

Charlotte, what type of faceplates do you put on? And how do you fasten them? These necks look good! nice work.
