Large box 7x8 inches. Hickory neck, oak fret board. Piezo. Strung with the 2nd, 3rd and 4th strings (gauges 16-25-32) from a 6 string set. Allows me to tune DGB of CGc. Sounds good. Quieter unplugged than hoped for. Plugged in has an unusually strong plugged acoustic tone.

Thanks, Clock. I think you may be on the right track. Those f holes never seemed too big until now! Dang, I was proud of em.
Well, it's not bad quiet ~~ I have 8 pretty good 3 stringers (yes, I am a sick man) and this one comes in around the middle for volume and top 4 for tone.
Wouldn't it be interesting to duplicate that build- one with smaller f holes and one with round holes and compare tone?

I wonder if the size of the sound holes in relation to the size of the box may be contributing to the
lower acoustic output. What I mean is, maybe it's opened up a bit to much. For a box of that size,
a single sound hole just a bit larger than a quarter is surprisingly effective. Could you possibly try
artfully covering one of the holes? Just a thought!
Nice looking, by the way!
