Thanks for the favorable comments and interest Southern Ray, Bernie, Ambrose, and Uncle John! The sound has a slight metal hint to it, the classical strings have a sweeter sound, so they probably mute the effect of the metal. Have not put a pickup on this one yet, and that could change things up. 3D frets really simplify a build and make it easy to get level, beveled, and not overhanging frets. It only takes 30 minutes to refret a guitar! I am experimenting with fishing line. Have not gotten satisfactory results yet with GDG tuning. I have some 130 lb test on order. I think they are going to work nicely with a 20.1” scale length low G Panhandler uke. I tried a pie tin first, didn’t like the rounded shape on my leg; I prefer the squared cake pan. The guitar shape morphed as a solution to buzz problems with a top covering the entire surface area of the pan. I didn’t want a 10+ screw solution! I always look at pictures of everyone’s builds for inspiration and ideas and fun. I will admit I have a pile of instruments, not unlike the pictures others have already shared that highlight our passion (disorder?)!

Great name and nice build. Darn you, Doug. I am still not building and hoping to quit. But I go to Dollar Tree and now you've given me this idea!

I like the idea of 3d printed frets. I use fishing line occasionally too; its cheap and cheerful and throw-awayable in experimentation!
