Sure did Unc. i used a dremel with circle attachment.
I cut it a bit smaller because the tapered lip on the lid has some flex to fit the paint can snuggly.
Once the hole was cut hand sand carefully until it snapped in tight !
Looks good. I bet that reso needed a precision cut.,
