  • You folks that build all by hand tools put extra soul, sweat and sometimes blood into your work.  I use power tools when I can, but I think the traditional spirit of the cbg calls for some imperfections and character.   As a small nod to that, I often use mis-matched tuners.

  • who's Dave?

    I only saw Doug.

  • Thank you , Dave and UJ

The slightly katty-wampus look of the final oval is because I use only hand tools. The thin laminated top wood cracks and splinters, which I cover up with the painted edges. The fact that I measure by eye, without my glasses on, adds to the 'features' and individuality.

  • Me too on the sound holes, grate and painted edges. Black tail complements the black sound holes. Padrons are about my fave box for CBGs.
  • Love the sound holes Rich! They really pop with the black screening; very “provocative”! Looking forward to hearing it Sunday.
